Dr Penelope Mitchell(PhD, BArch) – Director
Pene is passionate about sustainable living and has focused on reducing environmental impact for over two decades. During her architecture degree and her PhD, her focus was on sustainable development and she was subsequently employed at the Centre for Sustainable Construction, BRE, UK and CSIRO in sustainability in architecture roles. She is always looking for new ways to help people become more environmentally conscious and quite happily lectures and runs workshops to further disseminate ideas. Outside of running Worms Downunder Pene undertakes consultancy work, looks after her family and a menagerie of animals, tries to garden, and is writing a novel.
Daniel Latham (BEng) – Operations
Dan joined the company in 2015, making great first impressions as an enthusiastic and willing employee. He is now integral to the team working across all aspects of the business with his work ethic, attention to detail and general skills making him a credit to the company. With a background in mining engineering Dan says he much prefers helping the planet rather than destroying it. When he is not at work, he can be found in or around the ocean.
Bob Northway – Fabrication
Bob is a qualified boat builder by trade and is responsible for fabrication of our aerobic composters and vermiculture units. He has over 15 years experience in the industry and also has a background in the military and marine industry. His attention to detail and excellent workmanship are just some of his skills. With a can-do attitude and a big fluffy beard, Bob is a valued member of the crew. Bob has numerous interests including medieval re-enactments, archery and weapons of mass destruction from the dark ages.
